Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #156669
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with clients using a solutions-oriented behavioral approach. Whether you are seeking therapy because of recent circumstances or early life events, therapy can help. But finding the right therapist is not easy. Keep looking until you find someone who “clicks” with you and who also commits to working with you to achieve goals and master skills. I collaborate with my clients, offering an integrative and evidence-grounded approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, internal family systems, experiential, emotionally focused, and narrative therapy techniques. I tailor my approach to your treatment goals and incorporate client feedback and gold standard progress metrics throughout the course of treatment.
Early in my career I worked at a “macro” policy level to improve people’s health through research and program initiatives. Over time, as psychotherapy helped me understand what gave my own life meaning, I chose to train as a therapist and integrate my passion for healing with a one-on-one approach to understanding and addressing human suffering. I bring to my work an appreciation of cultural and other factors that contribute to an individual's symptoms and behavioral challenges, an evidence-based skill set, and, compassionate nonjudgment. Therapists don’t tell people how to “fix” things that cause them pain. Rather, we help clients define and work to adopt the choices and behaviors that will make their lives meaningful and complete. In doing this work, and it is work, most clients, including couples and families, benefit from a reduction in symptoms and an increased sense of purpose.
